This page is dedicated to my Grandma….

I know I am one of luckiest people in the world to have someone so wonderful touch my life in so many different ways. I have so many memories of her and I hold them very close to my heart. She was my best friend. We would stay up late at night, sometimes into the morning, just talking and drinking Big Red floats…Just the other day I was thinking of her and looking forward to the day when I would see her again in heaven.

When I was just a child I found the poem displayed on this page in a magazine. I copied the poem on paper and sent it to my Grandma. She took this poem, put it in a frame and hung it on the wall where it stayed until she went to a nursing home. When my Grandma died I was asked by my Aunt to read this same poem at her funeral. I was grateful for the opportunity show my Grandma how much I loved her one more time before saying goodbye.

Rare As A Ruby Precious As A Pearl

There is gift given by God Alone
That's beyond earthly measure.
None can compare with this priceless jewel;
It's a rich and beautiful treasure.

This stone's facets reflect the radiance
within serenity, faith, hope and joy.
Forever sheltered in the cleft of the rock,
genuine and without alloy.

What can this exquisite ornament be?
A sparkling gem like no other
Rare as ruby precious as a pearl.
A Loving Christian Grandmother

I love you Grandma…..

The midi playing on this page is "In The Garden" it was one of my Grandma's favorite songs and it was sung at her funeral. It always reminds me of her.
